See DOWNLOADS for Letter to all interested parties Hey! That's what happening this September 24-29 at the NSH Symposium/Convention in Seattle. The Registration Brochure for the event has been sent out to many of you. If not, contact the NSH or visit their website. It is going to be a major event for sure. Several NW speakers, over 100 workshops/meetings/seminars as well as the grand vendor exhibits. Good place to stock up on free pens for the year...in addition to tons of product information. Costs for NSH renewals/first time membership, registration, workshop prices, etc are listed. Time to gear up and arrange your schedules early. See all you Htechies, there. We will posting links to the points of interest you will want to check out. Stay tuned weekly for the quirky, but fun ones, too! For starters, just get an eyefull on the Washington State Convention Center. Click on SEATTLE now and get just a bit of what you can enjoy in the off-times. Science geeks can gather at the Pacific Science Center. Find some down right free entertainment at the Pike Place Market. Watch out for flying fish! Ride a Duck?. Yes, you can. Too much? Head for Jazz Alley or Tula's in Belltown. Very soothing music that's just a few blocks from your stay. How about keeping clam? Seattle's famous clam chowder at Ivar's Seafood and Chowder Restaurant on the waterfront. Did you know Seattle is built over the old pioneer town? Take a guided walk into Seattle's Underground Tour. Underground to top of the town! It's been on the scene for many TV and movies. Take the ride or dine at the Space Needle. Now, for breathtaking skyline views, we recommend a couple spots. The first is a roundtrip ride across the Puget Sound on the Washington State ferry to Bainbridge Island or Winslow during the late afternoon. Sun or rain, have cameras ready. View online pics on Yahoo's Flickr or punch in Seattle skyline search. And the second spot is Alki Beach in West Seattle. The concierge will be most happy to direct you there easily. Looking for a grand Seattle view over Northwest cuisine, then ask for a window table at Salty's Restaurant. Afterward, stroll the beachwalk to just...well...you just need to make the experience! Need some of that nightclubbin'? Try these places: Showbox at the Market, Rocksport Bar & Grill, Heaven in Seattle. OK, folks, you may want to look into our native cultural heritage. Check out several art galleries in the Pioneer Square area, venture to the Museum of Science and Industry south of the "U-Dub(the University of Washington, or try Tillicum Village across the Sound. To give you a flavor of the great Northwest languages wrapped around our area and some of our local jargon, which is a must to converse with the locals, you may need to view DOCUMENTS.
